Hot Boxing Prospect - Michael Oliveira
By Brad Marchetti, Doghouse Boxing (Aug 26, 2009)
Exciting Brazilian Middleweight prospect Michael Oliveira will be fighting in front of a live Brazilian audience in an 8-rounder September 11th from Pompano Beach, Florida. The undefeated Oliveira, 7-0, 6 KO’s, is a 19-year old power-puncher that is being hailed as Acelino “Popo” Frietes successor for boxing in Brazil.

Despite having had only 7 fights, Oliveira is already immensely popular in his native Brazil. At a stockily built 5’9” the confident young fighter has scored five 1st round knockouts in the first year of his boxing career.

Oliveira is a crowd pleasing fighter that likes to mix things up fast and furiously with a swarming attack. Oliveira does have his share of boxing ability with some nice athleticism and fresh reflexes, but Michael likes to back his opponents up with pressure.

Michael understands the concept of boxing being a spectator sport and is not afraid to take a little to give a little. Michael Oliveira is working on improving his defense as he gains more experience. With his blend youth , power and heart, Oliveira is a fighter worth tuning into see September 11th.
