Marcos Maidana vs Demarcus Corley Betting Line

Tonight on HBO Championship Boxing lead-fisted W.B.A 140 Lb. champion Marcos Maidana will square off against DeMarcus Corley from the champs native Buenos Aires, Aregentina. The 36-year old veteran southpaw DeMarcus Corley, 37-13-1, 22 KO’s, is expected to only be a tune-up for the up an coming Maidana, 28-1, 27 KO’s, who is still riding high after an upset win over Golden Boy prospect Victor Ortiz. If Maidana gets past the crafty Corley he is in line for a title shot against U.K sensation Amir Khan. The Marcos Maidana vs. Demarcus Corley Boxing Betting line is currently at Maidana -2500.

Despite being a huge underdog the durable Corley could keep this fight interesting for long enough to cash in on the + price tag on the OVER/Under Total. Maidana is every bit the puncher as advertised but laying -260 at 7.5 Rounds is fat. Corley has been a busy fighter with eight fights in 2009 and 2010 with a 5-3, 3 KO’s, ledger. Corley took on some tough prospects in Russia and had encouraging results in those fights. If Corley can keep Maidana turning and off-balance with crisp combinations and movement he can survive until the 10th round.

Maidana will win this fight but laying -2500 on the Boxing Betting Moneyline is a huge risk given Corley’s reputation as a boxing betting spoiler. Corley has only been stopped three times in his 318 rounds of boxing and his “cute” defensive moves will be enough to overcome a slower Maidana who punches wide.
