Calling from Los Angeles while discussing his upcoming visit to Chicagoland and working with 8 Count Productions, Oscar said, "Chicago is one of the great fight towns in the United States, and I'm glad that we're getting an opportunity to put on another show here. Our first show with 8 Count Productions was such a pleasure; they have a professional staff and run an A-Class show. I'm proud to say that we will continue our relationship with them in 2006 with a total of 4 shows in the Chicago area.
Continued the boxing world’s most popular fighter, “I've never had a chance to fight there, but every time I've visited Chicago I'm amazed at how many knowledgeable and dedicated fight fans there are in that city. It's always a pleasure to deal with people who appreciate and truly understand the sport. And I know Chicago's Latino community is going to be out in force on January 27th to support this show.”
Speaking about the main event Oscar stated, “Rubio and Kodzoev is going to be a war. Marco Antonio is one of the hardest punchers in the business and he's getting better with every fight. Kodzoev is a tough customer though; living and training in Philadelphia over the last few years has really forced him to up his game.”
Oscar finished up by saying, “I'm excited about this entire card. I've heard great things about some of the local prospects that 8 Count Productions has put on the show, and I'm looking forward to checking these fighters out live.
The main event on the SOLO BOXEO televised card is a terrific twelve round junior middleweight showdown between Marco Antonio Rubio, 32-2-1 (29KO’s) of Gomez Palacio, Mexico and Russian Aslanbek Kodzoev, 16-1-1 (11KO’s) fighting out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
