The Quiet Cannon in Montebello once again hosts All Star Boxing's "Budweiser Battle of the Rising Stars" Friday, March 31st, 2006 with 7 scheduled bouts. The evening's featured fight will match two former amateur stars when Adrian Aleman (3-1-1) meets Jerry Pavich (1-1) in a 6 round super flyweight bout that promises to be action packed. Aleman's lone loss was an 8 round decision in only his fourth pro bout. Pavich lost a highly controversial 6 round decision is his last fight at the Quiet Cannon.
In the evening's other 6 round fight, another former amateur star, jr. welterweight David Rodela (3-1-1), comes in from Oxnard and meets the rugged Alex Ariza (3-6). Ariza has 2 KO wins in his last 4 fights.
In other 4 round action...
Rodela's stablemate, heavyweight Victor Barragan (1-1), returns to the Quiet Cannon and hopes to win his second straight against former Bowling Green football star and Kansas City Royal farmhand Leon Weathersby (1-0).
Two boxers fighting out of the Golden Boy Gym, jr. lightweight Armando Dorantes (5-0) and super lightweight Christopher Rizo (Pro Debut) hope to come out at the end of the evening unbeaten. Dorantes will face his toughest test yet in Jorge Perez (6-2) and Rizo will go up against Roberto Soto (0-2).
Super middleweight Roberto Estrada (4-1) returns to the Quiet Cannon and will, like Dorantes, face by far his toughest and most experienced opponent to date, Ramon Espinoza (7-5).
Two light heavyweights make their professional debuts when 35 year old boxing gym owner/instructor Mitch Waters meets Robert Ryan.
The weigh-in will take place at the Quiet Cannon earlier in the day March 31st at 11am.
All Star Boxing's next show at the Quiet Cannon will be Friday, May 19.
