New Delhi: Four-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield on Monday issued an appeal for global peace, calling on the youth to join a peace march to promote brotherhood.
“I support the cause of the global peace rally and I look forward to being here and support and hoping that everybody can come together and share same vision about being in one world. Its gonna take more than one person to do this,” Holyfield told reporters in New Delhi.
Holyfield is part of the peace march, to be held in Indian capital on October 2, birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, amongst the worlds most famous crusaders of non-violence.
The event is being organised by the Global Peace Initiative, a voluntary organisation.
One of the best fighters of his generation, the highlights of Holyfields battles in the ring over the last 20 years were his epic contests with Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis.
His most shocking bout was in 2001 when Tyson bit a chunk of his ear.
