Martin Castillo dropped previously unbeaten Alexander Munoz twice tonight at the Entertainment Center in Laredo, Texas en route to a 12 round unanimous decision victory that earned the Mexico City native the WBA super flyweight championship. Scores were 117-109 twice, and 116-110 for Castillo, who improves to 27-1 with 16 KOs. Venezuela's Munoz, who was making the fourth defense of his crown, falls to 25-1 with 24 KOs. He was sent to the canvas in the fourth and eighth rounds by "El Gallo", whose only loss was a controversial six round technical decision to Felix Machado in 2002.
