Both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao have now gone on record to say that their teams are not in negotiations with one another's side.
"Not True", these are the words spoken yesterday by Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. as he spoke to reporters in regards to rumors that his Team was in negotiations with Team Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.
Recent reports circulating in the media have credited promoter Bob Arum and Pacquiao as indicating they were in negotiations with Mayweather's team for a fight. Just before the rumors started flying, in defense of Pacquiao, earlier this month he told us here at Doghouse Boxing (in a video interview conducted by Radio Rahim of our sister site, MaxBoxing) regarding talks with team Mayweather, Pacquiao told Rahim: "No, I haven't spoken to them (Team Mayweather) in months". (You can see the interview conducted by Rahim with Pacquiao in full - see image / link below).
Yesterday, addressing media at the MGM, Mayweather also confirmed the rumor was "Not true," and further stated: "I can't say what the future holds, but Arum and Pacquiao is trying to sell tickets (to his next match) for the guy named (Chris) Algieri. Trying to sell tickets for that fight. I don't know where they fighting, I don't know anything about what Top Rank is doing."
