Marcos Maidana upped his class with two valiant efforts against Floyd "Money" Mayweather. He also did a massive number on Adrien Broner. Simply put, Maidana has made himself a household name amongst true and even casual boxing fans.
So what could the future hold for Maidana? His trainer, Robert Garcia feels Maidana has earned a right to face Manny Pacquiao.
In this new video, Garcia, when asked about such fights as Keith Thurman and a rematch with Adrien Broner for Maidana, the trainer liked the fights, but not the dollar value. Garcia states: "Those are competitive fights - but as I've stated before, Maidana isn't going to settle for $1.2 or $1.3 million dollars - he wants the $3 or $4 million dollar fights and that is Pacquiao."
Garcia's thoughts on Pacquiao vs. Maidana: "It would be a good fight you know. Just being there
and having the chance to fight someone like Pacquiao, it's already an accomplishment and I think he's got a chance."
Did the Mayweather fights help Maidana? Garcia says: "Definitely! He is known throughout the world, everybody loves him, everybody respects him, so he has earned his position where he is right now."
