Bob Arum Speaks on Manny Pacquiao Deal; Update
By Doghouse Boxing (Jan 15, 2007)
In today's edition of the Viva Sports/Standard Today, Ronnie Nathanielsz is reporting in his column that Top Rank's promoter Bob Arum said he is waiting for Manny Pacquiao to decide on the planned fight with WBC featherweight champ In Jin Chi in Macau scheduled for April 28.

Speaking to the Viva Sports/Standard Today, Arum confirmed he had spoken to In Jin Chi's team through the matchmaker, boxing manager and journalist Joe Koizumi.

Arum tells Nathanielsz; “We had pretty much agreed on terms and now I’ve got to discuss things with Manny [Pacquiao] and his people this week.”

According to the report, Arum confirmed he has not discussed it yet with Pacquiao but will do soon, adding that Pacquiao's busy schedule which involves shooting a TV commercial with Erik Morales, amongst other obligations has eaten a lot of the sport star's time. Before any deal is finalized, Arum wants to sit down with Pacquiao, to hear what the Champ has to say.

Arum was also proud that Pacquiao and Morales were hooking up to shoot a TV commercial together, saying; “That’s the way it should be among sportsmen.”
