La Puente, California's own, Undefeated Featherweight prospect, Abraham ''Chamaco'' Lopez looks to extend 18-0-1 with 13KOs record. Now at 27 years of age, the speedster fighting with the backing of Golden Boy Promotions looks to showcase his skills in the main event this Thursday night at the very popular Belasco Theater down town L.A.
Lopez, fighting out of La Puente, California spent most of his career fighting in the Ontario California club circuit. He has defeated the likes of a very tough, Aaron Garcia, the slick Gabriel Tolaiyan, and is coming off a fifth round destruction of Alfred Tetteh in his last outing. His only blemish, (if you can call it that) being a draw with Juan Carlos Martinez in March of this year.
Lopez will be facing Jorge Luis Diaz, 18-3-1 (10KOs) hailing from New Brunswick, NJ. in a scheduled ten round bout.
''King'' Diaz has a win over one-time world title challenger Emmanuel Lucero, but has fallen a bit short when stepping up in competition.
Abraham's future looks bright, as he is managed under the Espinoza Boxing Club headed by the knowledgeable Frank Espinoza, who among others has had the likes of Daniel Ponce De Leon, Abner Mares, and Israel Vasquez in his ranks.
The co-featured fight with see East L.A.'s very popular Roy ''Pitbull'' Tapia, (10-0-2, 5 KOs) taking on Juan Luis Hernandez, 18-5- (9KOs) in a scheduled eight round Super Bantamweight outing.
LA FIGHT CLUB: Lopez vs. Diaz is a 10-round featherweight bout presented by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Corona Extra and Mexico - Live It To Believe It! Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and the first bout begins at 5:30 p.m. The FOX Deportes broadcast will air live, Thursday, August 6 at 10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT.
