The recent Tomasz Adamek vs. Steve Cunningham II
scorecards have been a controversial item since the announcement by
ring announcer Michael Buffer and the revised one given him by PA
Executive Secretary Greg Sirb which was also added incorrectly.
Adamek won the fight on two of the three scorecards. The fight took
place Saturday at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, PA.
There were only two rounds that all
three judges agreed on and they were the fifth and the eleventh both
going to Adamek. Adamek also won rounds three, six, ten and twelve
on two of the three scorecards. Cunningham won rounds one, two,
four, seven, eight, nine on two of the three scorecards.
Adamek won on Debra Barnes card 115-113
though announced 116-116 and changed to 115-112 and after a final
official boxing ballot showed it was 115-112 it was added up
incorrectly and should have been 115-113. Adamek also won on Dave
Greer’s card 116-112. Cunningham won on Tom Miller’s card
115-113. Most of press row had Cunningham ahead though this writer
had it 114-114 with Adamek winning the last three rounds.
To see it for yourself if you didn’t
over NBC it will be shown again Thursday 9:30pm-11:30pm, Friday
11pm-1am and Thursday Jan 3rd 9pm-11pm over NBC. All
times eastern standard time.
