Main Events Moves Forward

Main Events announced earlier Tuesday that since
no suitable replacement was found as the opponent for Sergei Liakhovich (who was scheduled to face Eddie Chambers before he suffered injured
ribs) that a pair of local heavyweights from the Philadelphia area,
Maurice Byarm and Bryant Jennings would now co-headline their inaugural
shows on the NBC Sports Network from the Ayslum Arena in Philly.
When the usual suspects like Ty Fields were brought up to pinch-hit
for Chambers( which is ironic given that the last time this network was
in the boxing business they were fit to be ’Tyed’) Kathy Duva decided it
was time to move forward and attempt to make a real fight, instead of
just trotting out two names. I give her credit, it takes some guts to do
that. Besides, from the get-go this was going to be tough, finding
suitable replacements on such notice is difficult.
The co-main event is a jr. middleweight scrap between Jose Soto-Karass and Gabriel Rosado.
