Las Vegas sans Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather, is a Dead Market

I've harped on this before, but Las Vegas sans Pacquiao, is a dead market. Once another hotel- this time the MGM Grand- is offering free rooms AND tickets for this weekends ’Action Heroe’s pay-per-view card. It’s the exact same offer made by the Mandalay Bay for the December bout between Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana.

Again, unless there is a Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather involved, I’m not sure Vegas can really be called the bona-fide capital of boxing, at the present time. Every other event( and I’ve been to just about every single one the past several months, have had mediocre crowds- at best)

To me, its just further proof that the powers-that-be need to place more and more events in markets where local or regional attractions can be developed....
