Lance Pugmire of the LA Times reported that if Antonio Margarito is cleared medically to fight, he could face Miguel Cotto on December 3rd, meaning that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will instead face the likes of Pawel Wolak, Peter Manfredo Jr. or Marco Antonio Rubio in his next outing, according to Bob Arum.

"We don't have a date for Chavez but HBO told us that whenever Chavez is ready to go again, they want him on their network," said Arum, the Top Rank boss. "And for us, it makes all the sense in the world because I would like him to be seen now to the most possible people rather than the least possible, which is pay-per-view because I think we can really begin to build the kid."

The HBO broadcast on Saturday night from the Staples Center did a 3.1 rating, the highest “Boxing After Dark” rating in four years. Arum says he got an incredibly positive response from the Hollywood set that showed up to the fight. However, even though Chavez Jr. now has the WBC middleweight crown, Arum will still treat him with kid gloves."Of course, he needs to be developed. He can't get his out of the way of a f**kin' punch," said Arum, with great eloquence.

He insists that he will continue to keep Junior as active as possible, not just relegating him to premium cable appearances every half-year. Arum says Chavez will fight, "Minimum three, optimum four" times, every 12-month stretch.
