When
asked when- and if- the process to begin negotiations would start for the long
belated Pacquiao-Mayweather showdown, Arum stated, “We're not even up to that
point and I will not negotiate the fight through the press. I will not for any
fight. When it happens, we'll let everybody know. I'm not them. I don't
negotiate through the press. I don't spit lies and so forth through the press
as part of the negotiating process. All I'm saying is that when the results
come out, what transpired Saturday night,
pay-per-view, that it will be astounding.”
He
added, “We will not do an announcement unless it comes from HBO.”
HE
SAID/HE SAID
I
think this email summed it up best about all the rhetoric regarding this
situation:
“there's nothing worse, IMO,
than the he-said he-said nonsense of talking about the Pac-Mayweather
negotiations.
it's an impossible dream, but I just wish both sides would stop talking to the
media and either get the fight done or not get it done, but stop negotiating it
through the media.
multi-millionnaires negotiating against other multi-millionnaires is no more
interesting here than it is with the NFL or NBA lockouts.
i only want to know when fights are made; the rest is bullsh*t.

Can't
disagree with anything you stated, Shane. And just my gut feeling, if
Pacquiao-Marquez III does the robust numbers that Arum is hinting at, I think
you'll see a fourth edition of that fight and Mayweather will fight someone
else.
Yeah,
that'll make everyone happy...
