Paul "The Punisher" Williams will be featured on HBO "Boxing After Dark"

Former light middleweight southpaw Paul "The Punisher" Williams will be featured on HBO "Boxing After Dark" on Saturday night, July 9 at 10:15pm ET/PT doubleheader presented by Goossen Tutor Promotions in association with Teiken Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions from the Ballroom atBoardwalk Hall and hosted by Caesars Atlantic City.

Wiiliams once the "most feared fighter" (39-2-0-27) will take on southpaw Cuban defector Erislandy Lara (15-0-1-10).

Williams a former WBO, NABO, WBC USNBC welterweight title holder is rebounding from a second-round knockout loss from Sergio Martinez {for} Martinez' WBC Middleweight belt in November 2010. The 29-year old Williams defeated Martinez in their first meeting by majority decision back in December, 2009.

In their ''second meeting'' in 2010 where Martinez threw 76 total punches and landed 23, compared to Williams' 33 lands and 105 throws - Boxrec News clearly stated: "After an exciting first round, which was reminiscant of their first bout, Martinez knocks Williams out cold with a hard left hook in The Ring Magazine's 2010 Knockout of the Year."

During a formal interview , Williams remarked: "I just need to get in the ring and show the fans rather than talk about what I know I can do. Lara is tough and I know he'll be ready to do what he can to beat me, but I'll be ready to make my statement on July 9."

The 29 year Erislandy Lara, a Cuban born native currently resides in Florida is coming off a majority decision from Carlos Molina, a Mexican National from Patzcuaro, Michoacán de Ocampo, Mexico. Prior to Molina, Lara scored four straight first round knockout victories.

During an interview, Lara, said: "We've been trained since little kids to be ready for this type of fight, and I will not let all my hard work throughout those years stop me from beating Williams and knowing what a win over a former 3-time world champion would mean for my career."
