Britain’s former world boxing champion Amir Khan has responded to Floyd 'Money' Mayweather Jr’s social media appeal asking boxing fans to choose who he faces next.
It was generally believed that Khan was to be his next opponent in May but now the pound for pound No.1 has asked his Twitter followers to who he should fight next, either Khan or an opponent he has beaten already in Marcos Maidana.
A bemused Khan also took to Twitter to say: ‘@FloydMayweather says he’s picking either me or Maidana. Why would u even consider my left overs.’
- In another tweet, Khan posted: 'Mayweather says he needs a easy fight and fans want to see a knock out so maybe thats the reason he doesn't want fight me n wants Maidana ??'
At the moment a SecondsOut poll to ask who Mayweather should fight next reveals 53% of readers believe Mayweather should fight Khan as opposed to 47% preferring Maidana.
