Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez returned after losing his unbeaten record to Floyd Mayweather Jr last September by scoring a 10th round tko win over Alfredo Angulo at the MGM Grand in Les Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night.

Whilst Alvarez found it pretty much impossible to hit Mayweather last time out - the opposite could not be said of Angulo.

The former WBC light middleweight champ battered the game but outclassed Angulo before stopping him with an uppercut after at 0.47 of the 10th round.

“Tonight I was the best fighter,” Canelo said. “I definitely rebounded from the Mayweather fight with a strong performance today. I’m very happy. I came in here and did my job.”

Angulo never off his feet but was hit consistently throughout the fight with hard combinations until the anticipated late stoppage.
