Former light middleweight world title challenger Vanes Martirosyan, 34-1-1-(21), scored a clear shutout 10 round unanimous decision win over Mario Lozano, 27-5-(20), at the Morongo Casino in Cabazon, California on Friday night.
Martirosyan decked Lozano with a right hand to the top of the head in round two prior to securing a 100-89 points win on all three judges scorescards. It was the perfect start for Martirosyan’s debut under new promoter Goossen Tutor promotions.
In a lightweight bout Anthony Peterson, 33-1-(21), won a 10 round unanimous decision over Marcos “El Tigre” Jimenez, 20-5-(13). Peterson’s boxing skills secured him a clear 98-92, 100-90 and 99-91 win on the scorecards.
In the opening bout of the evening Vatch Martirosyan,, 3-0-(2), the younger brother of Vanes Martirosyan battered the outgunned Gustavo Lopez, 0-2-1,into submission after 1.01 of the third round. Lopez was decked three times before referee Raul Caiz Jr stepped in to stop the onslaught.
