Former British, Commonwealth and European junior middleweight champion Jamie Moore has thanked fans for all the get well messages he has received over the last few days. The 35 year-old was shot in both legs in Marbella, Spain whilst our there training his friend and former opponent Matthew Macklin.
Moore tweeted “It’s at times like this that you realize how well your thought of. I’ve had unbelievable support. Means a lot it really does.#BoxingFamily.”
He said in another message: “Thanks for all the well wishes. Overwhelmed. Gutted and confused about what happened, but thank God I’m ok.”
On his Twitter page Matthew Macklin tweeted: "Just to let everyone know Jamie Moore is still in hospital but he’s ok. He was shot in his legs but the doctors have said there shouldn’t be any serious or permanent damage done."
