While the boxing world waits for Floyd Mayweather to announce who he's going to face on May 3rd, a simple tweet from the Top Rank twitter account on Thursday morning made it clear what was taking place at the famed Madison Square Garden in early June.
So there it is, the recognized middleweight champion of the world, Sergio Martinez, facing one of the games biggest stars, Miguel Cotto, in what figures to be, at the very least, one of the most anticipated events of 2014. The catch-weight for this bout is 159 pounds.
As for ticket information, all that's still being worked out. A press tour is scheduled that will hit Puerto Rico, New York City, Los Angeles and Buenos Aires, with the dates still to be determined. This fight will be distributed on HBO Pay-Per-View.
