| Here is just a little take on what is going down in the fight world, as well as the world in general.
Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao Is it on or Not?
For years now, this is a fight that the fans have been debating. Now with both fighters coming off victories, of course, Floyd has never tasted defeat. Either way, both are available, both say they want the fight, but, for some reason the deal has not been sealed as of yet.
A certain boxing website posted that the two would be squaring off on Cinco de Mayo, although it was not reported anywhere else. But, quickly took the scheduled date down within realizing their screw up. As of now, I do not believe anybody in the boxing world knows if this fight will ever take place. Myself, I am getting tired of hearing about it, it is like two school kids on the playground trash talking back and forth and never throwing a punch, fight already!
Most hated?
I was scrolling through Facebook and seen a question proposed that had me stop and think. Question read, “Most hated, Dallas Cowboys or Floyd Mayweather Jr.?” Now, I myself cannot answer that honestly, for the simple fact that I am a diehard Cowboys fan. And yes, I was following the team as a young teenager when they went 1-15 during Troy Aikman’s rookie year.
Now, I am not a fan of Floyd, yes he is undefeated, most certainly a first round ballot HOF inductee, yes he is talented, but, I just cannot get over his arrogance. But, that is a damn good question. It seems as if people like to hate on perfection, or in the case of Dallas, I believe they are hated on for the “just because” factor. So, which is it, most hated, Dallas Cowboys, or Floyd Mayweather Jr?
Somebody is getting hurt!
If their words are true, when the WBC heavyweight title holder Bermane Stiverne defends his title against the undefeated knockout artist, Deontay Wilder, somebody is not only getting KTFO, but, they will be hurt during the process. Wonder if they are trying to sell tickets, or do the two really dislike one another. Wilder says he wants to beat Stiverne within an inch of his life, all the while Bermane is aiming to beat down the clown (as Camille Estephan calls Wilder). Honestly, in my humble opinion, if Stiverne can with stand the early onslaught from Wilder, he will stop Wilder. Although Deonty has an unblemished record, I feel he is untested. But no doubt, somebody is going to feel some serious pain!
Would you reject $975 million?
Harold Hamm, the chief executive of oil driller Continental Resources who is embroiled in a bitter divorce, offered to pay his former wife Sue Ann Arnall $974.8 million, but she rejected a hand-written check.
WTF?
This chick was married to the money man for twenty-six years, and she wants Hamm who is worth around eighteen billion, to give her one billion of his stash. The guy has already dropped twenty million during the divorce proceedings.
Another notch in the overhyped belt!
It was recently announced that the undefeated welterweight prospect, Dustin Harrison will be taking on Tommy Rainone this Friday night on Jay Z’s promotional debut. First off, I like Dustin, a good young man, great interview, but, it has hot mess written all over it.
Hernandez-Harrison is coming off his biggest victory to date in November when he stopped former contender Michael Clark in one round. Let’s be far, that was Clark’s fourth consecutive loss via KO.
The media machine has really pumped this fight as a rough and rugged warrior in Rainone, taking on the highly regarded Harrison. And I mean no disrespect to Tommy, this is a huge opportunity for him, he has nothing to lose and everything to gain. But, I see it, as a guy with a nice looking record on paper, to help pad another fighter’s resume. Rainone has a draw against a (1-2) fighter just two fights ago, and honestly has a padded record himself. He should make the young Dusty look good for TV.
Who is not in the Baseball Hall of Fame?
We all know the story of Pete Rose, and him being banned from being inducted into the HOF because of betting. And we are witnessing the likes of Roger Clemens, Mark McGuire and Barry Bonds being shamed away from the hall because of the steroid debacle. I can see why those three may never get in the HOF with being tainted with cheating, but, what about one of the greatest catchers of all time, Mike Piazza? Look at his numbers. Rafael Palmeiro has over 3,000 hits and no call from the HOF. I remember voting when I was in the BWAA. And at times, it seems like a popularity contest of sorts, just look, Stallone made it in.
Just like in boxing, and the rock n roll HOF, baseball is overlooking some qualified individuals.
