Allan Green destroys Carlos De Leon Jr.!

This past Saturday night at the Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, super middleweight contender Allan Green 28-1 (20) awed the fans on hand as well as the many viewing worldwide via Showtime as the Oklahoma native made quick work of his foe Carlos De Leon Jr. 21-3-2 (14) in just two rounds of a scheduled ten round match-up.
Round one was an even one with both fighters feeling one another out, and all though the second would be the end of it all for De Leon, the Puerto Rican fighter closed the round one on good terms.
Round two began with both fighters going back to business, but business was abruptly interrupted for De Leon, who hit the deck fast and hard courtesy of a Green left hook.
De Leon rose to his feet and tried to continue, but heart could not disguise his shaky legs, which again went out from under him as Carlos ate an overhand right from an aggressive Green.
All though De Leon had the will, Green went in for the kill dropping De Leon four times prompting referee Joe Lupino to call a halt to the affliction at 1:54 in round two, earning Green his fifth consecutive victory since dropping his one and only bout to Edison Miranda March of 2007.
Green, who is ranked number eight in ring magazine’s 168-pound division looks for bigger fish to fry in the division, and from what as stated after the throw down, Green would desire a date with world championship destiny taking on the undefeated WBC titlist Carl Froch, who defeated Jermain Taylor in spectacular fashion on the main event.
With Taylor dropping his third bout out of his last four, and Green making his five in a row, there should be some adjustments in the rankings.
