Three Professional Boxing Predictions on Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton

Benny Henderson Jr.: For me it is all about being the busier fighter, if you want to get the nod in this one you have to stay extra busy. We have busy in both fighters, and we have power as well, so who can wear down who first. My boy Bob Carroll wouldn’t root against Pacquiao is Manny was fighting Mother Carroll, so to piss off my best friend I am going to shout it out, GO RICKY HATTON GO!

I expect a close fight, and I feel Manny’s days are numbered, so Hatton may be the one to dial it on down and get the W! How?

Hatton late KO or very close decision.

Eric Marks: Ricky Hatton is obviously solid and very confident at 140 and will be tough to beat, but Pacquiao looks very comfortable as he has moved up in weight and is on a bit of a roll. This should be a war, action packed from start to finish, one sure to please the fans.

Though I expect it to be competitive throughout, I feel in the end Pacquiao will be a bit too much for Hatton and should get a late round stoppage, say 11th round.

John Novoselac: I feel that Hatton’s claims of improvement are vastly overstated. Sure, he’s a bit better, but what you can’t improve is punch resistance. His chin was dented by Floyd, and tapped by the light hitting lightweight Juan Lazcano. I think his dominance over Malignaggi in his last fight was mostly due to a horrible game plan by Paulie.

Pacquiao on the other hand consistently improves in each fight. Say what you want about Oscar being depleted, that doesn’t change the fact that Manny dominated a fight in which he was a 2 to 1 dog. Speed will be the deciding factor, and Hatton will be absolutely overwhelmed.

Pacquiao by TKO in rounds 5 or 6.
