Vitaliy Demyahenko
Coming up Saturday night at the Emerald Queen Casino, Tacoma, Washington, the undefeated welterweight sensation Vitaliy Demyahenko 21-0 (12) will attempt to continue his winning ways when he takes on upset minded Damian Frias 19-5-1 (10) in a scheduled ten round main attraction. Born in Kazakhstan, the twenty-nine year old fighter now resides out of Vegas, and plans on using this win to slate him against one of the young guns in the top ten. In this exclusive interview, Vitaliy talks about his upcoming bout, his career and more, enjoy.

Benny:  Can you tell how training camp went for this fight?

Vitaliy:
I’ve been training hard in the gym for the last two months.  This camp is an extension of my last fight which took place a few weeks ago so I’m in great shape.

Benny:   What do you know about your opponent Damian Frais?

Vitaliy:
I’ve studied his fights with my trainer and we’ve come up with a good strategy.  We know he comes to fight and if you take him lightly, he can pull off the upset.  I’m not going to let that happen though.  Nothing is going to stop me from winning this fight.

Benny:  You’ll be the main event this Saturday at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington.  Can you talk about being the feature attraction of the night?

Vitaliy:
I’m very excited to be headlining this card.  My manager Steve Pochiro and promoter Mario Yagobi are working together nicely and they are the ones responsible for getting me these fights.  I want to show the fans, I’m a real contender.

Benny:  What is your fan base like in your homeland of Russia?

Vitaliy:
I have a lot of fans that support me in Russia.  My father was an Olympic boxer so I’ve gained a lot of popularity amongst his peers and the people that surround them.  My dream is to one day fight for a world title in Russia.  I’m working my way there.

Benny:  When do you think you’ll be ready to challenge anyone in the top ten?

Vitaliy:
After this fight I’ll be ready for anyone in the world.  My main focus is on beating Frais and after that I’ll talk to my promoter Boxing 360 and see what he has lined up for me.

Benny: Anything in closing?

Vitaliy:
I want to thank everyone who’s been supporting me over the years.  It’s been a long road to get to where I’m at today and I promise I’ll give it my all every time I step in the ring.  Thank you.
