Khan, from Bolton, England, floored Collazo with short right in round four. Collazo, his arms at his sides, got up quickly and pursued Khan the rest of the stanza. Both fighters were deducted points for infractions in round eight. Collazo landed a low blow - while Khan lost a point for holding. Collazo stunned Khan with a left to the chin. Khan appeared to wobble, but regained his senses quickly.
In round 10, Khan knocked Collazo down twice with punches to the body and head. The super tough Collazo got up and motioned to Khan that he wanted more.
Collazo battled back in round 11, but Khan used the ring intelligently and jabbed. His work on the outside was impressive. Collazo tried for the knock out in the last round. Khan stuck to his game plan and peppered the Brookyln, NY. native with shots.
“I put it together tonight,” said Khan in the ring after the fight. “I’ve been training very hard for the last 12 months.”
