The scores were 120-106, 118-108 and 117-109. Maxboxing and Doghouseboxing.com had Chudinov the easy winner by a 119-106 tally. Chudinov, who captured the WBA belt from Felix Strum last May, pressured Buglioni from the opening bell. Buglioni, the taller fighter by a good three inches, tried to box and stay out of the range of Chudinov’s right hand. He did pretty well in the opening stanza. Chudinov began to establish his superiority in rounds two and three. He tattooed Buglioni with stiff jabs and combinations to the head and body. By round four, Chudinov's work rate was proving to be too much for Buglioni. The Enfield native fought back in spurts, but couldn’t keep the Russian champion off of him. Chudinov’s right hand was landing consistently. At the end of round six, Buglioni connected with a big hook that floored Chudinov. Referee Terry O’Connor ruled the blow came after the bell and deducted two points from Buglioni. The 26-year-old Buglioni came out aggressively in round seven, hoping against hope that Chudinov was still feeling the effects of being knocked down. Chudinov, 27, stood his ground and fought back. He clocked Buglioni with inside hooks and shots to the ribs. Buglioni tried to pickup the pace in rounds nine and 10, but Chudinov’s punching was overwhelming him. Chudinov continued to punish Buglioni in the last few rounds. Buglioni wouldn’t quit, pounding his gloves together enthusiastically, but Chudinov is easily the better boxer. “He’s a good fighter,” said Chudinov after the fight."I expected a hard fight. I respect him.” “I gave it my best,” Buglioni said. "He was the better man tonight.” The two were originally scheduled to meet on July 24—until Chudinov suffered a broken nose during training camp. - TO WRITE FOR DOGHOUSE BOXING: E-mail John now at: marlow_58@hotmail.com John J.
