Argentina’s Omar Andres “El Huracan” Narvaez, 43-2-1 (23) was stopped for the first time in his career by Japan’s WBC World Light Flyweight champion Naoya Inoue, 8-0 (7), in the 2nd round for Narvaez’s WBO Super Flyweight title in Tokyo, Japan, Wednesday night!
Inoue was an outstanding amateur for Japan and captured the Japanese Light Fly Title in his fourth fight, the OPBF Light Fly title in his fifth fight and the WBC Light Fly title in his sixth fight. It has been just twenty-six months since he turned professional and he is only twenty-one years-old!
Referee Lou Moret counted Narvaez out at 3:01 of the second round!
Narvaez is 39 and has fought out of Argentina in Italy, Spain, France and New York. His only other loss was to Nonito Donaire by decision in New York in 2011. It looks like the possible end to an era of one of the best little men in the history of boxing and the arrival of one of the possible future stars!
