Unbeaten Boxers on the Rise at #147 in Sammy Vasquez & Dusty Hernandez-Harrison By Ken Hissner, Doghouse Boxing (May 5, 2014) TweetFollow @DoghouseBoxing
This writer interviewed both Sammy “The Who Can Mexican” Vasquez, 14-0 (10), of Monessen, PA, and Dusty Hernandez-Harrison, 21-0 (11), of Washington, District of Columbia in the past year. Both are welterweights with Sammy being 28 and Dusty 19. Both are a credit to the sport of boxing. And both are “Born Again” Christians along with being Mexican-American!
Last Saturday in DC where Dusty lives Sammy scored a 1st round stoppage of previously unbeaten Juan “The Beast” Rodriguez, 11-0 of Union City at 2:49 of the 1st round after scoring 3 knockdowns. He recently signed with Iron Mike Tyson Promotions. Trainer Bob Healey keeps me posted on Sammy.
On the other hand last month Dusty defeated Michael Balasi, then 10-3, over 6 rounds in Pala, CA. In November he won the WBC Youth Silver Welterweight title. In the latest WBO rankings he moved into the No. 15 spot! Trainer/father Buddy Harrison keeps me posted on Dusty.
