WBC Youth Silver welterweight champion Dusty Hernandez-Harrison, 22-0 (12), of DC won his 22nd straight fight to remain unbeaten by stopping veteran Roberto “El Viejo” Valenzuela, 69-67-2 (56), of Senora, MEX, at 2:12 of the 4th round at the Mountaineer Racetrack & Resort, in Chester, WV Saturday night. He took the fight on a couple days notice in posting his 3rd win of the year.
Hernandez-Harrison boxed well in peppering the oncoming Valenzuela until the 3rd round when he landed a right to the left side of the rib cage and a right uppercut to the chin almost in one motion dropping his opponent.
Before the round was over Hernandez-Harrison scored a standing count. In the 4th a straight lead right to the same rib cage dropped Valenzuela. A 4-punch combination to the body hurt Valenzuela causing the referee to stop the fight.
This bout took place just 4 days before Hernandez-Harrison will be turning 20 on the 21st of May.
He is scheduled in his hometown June 27th at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center with an opponent to be named over 8 rounds.
