I got a call a week ago from good friend Amy Hayes. I hadn't heard from her in a long time. She wanted to let me know she's doing a show in Washington, PA, near Pittsburgh. This would be her first time doing it there. But according to Amy, she hasn't really been inactive; she's been actively doing shows in Europe, Asia, and Mexico. She wanted to let me know all is well, and she's still out there--plying her trade as the first lady of the ring.
Amy has always been very good at her ring announcing. Here's a little bit about the show in Washington, PA:
The show will be at Meadows Casino, on July 26, at 7:30 p.m. It will be broadcast on Fox 53, Pittsburgh region, on Saturday, August 2, from midnight to 1 a.m.
Here are the two feature bouts:
NABA Heavyweight USA Championship: Jason Bergman (champ), 23-10-2, vs. Justin Jones, 15-0-1.
NABA Light Heavyweight Championship: Tommy Karpency, 22-4-1, vs. Dhafir "No Fear" Smith, 27-24-7.
Amy is doing this show for Frank Luca and Dean Chance, two of her good friends. I will be doing an upcoming story on Amy, with more detail, letting you know more about what she's been doing. Amy has always been a class act and a great friend.
