In May of 2012 Philly’s Dhafir “No Fear” Smith, (pictured) 27-24-7 (4), defeated Tony “Boom Boom” Ferrante, 12-3 for the PA #175 title at Harrah’s Philadelphia. In April of 2013 he lost a disputed majority decision to Anthony Caputo Smith, 13-1, losing his belt at the same venue. This Saturday he travels 5 hours west to the Meadows Racetrack & Casino, in Washington, PA, taking on southpaw Tommy Karpency, 22-4-1 (14), of Adah, PA, for the vacant PA #175 title, since Anthony Caputo Smith vacated and moved up and won the PA Cruiserweight title. The vacant NABA USA title is also at stake.

Karpency challenged for the WBO title in 2012 losing in 12 and split in 2 fights with Rayco Saunders while Smith defeated Saunders. Karpency drew with Demetrious Davis while Smith defeated Davis as far as common opponents go. Smith defeated former IBF Super middleweight champion in 2010.

This is a Frank Luca Crown Boxing promotion with a heavyweight co-feature having Jason Bergman, 23-10-2 (16), Pittsburgh, defending against Justin Jones, 15-0-1 (9), of Houston, TX, his NABA USA title.
