Will Those Unwilling to Fight GGG Prevent His Destiny?
By Ken Hissner, Doghouse Boxing (Sept 30, 2014)

Gennady GGG Golovkin
GGG

Gennady “GGG” Golovkin is the WBA Super and IBO Middleweight champion with a 30-0 record and 27 knockouts including 17 in his last 17 fights. He is having his 11th title defense on October 18th in Carson, CA, against Marco Antonio Rubio, 59-6-1 (51), of Mexico, the interim WBC champion whose title will also be on the line.

IBF champion Sam Soliman is defending against his No. 15 contender Jermain Taylor on October 8th. WBO champion Peter Quillin is refusing to defend against No. 1 contender Matt Korobov and the WBA now ranks Quillin No. 2. It has been said Golovkin ran Quillin out of the ring several years ago in a sparring session. Both Soliman and Quillin “claim” they will fight Golovkin. Then sign on the dotted line!

Golovkin has stated he would drop to 154 to fight Saul Alvarez who is top contender in 3 of the 4 organizations. Mayweather holds the WBC and WBA 154 titles and there is no way he is defending against Golovkin. WBC champion at 160 Miguel Cotto isn’t defending against his interim champion yet Golovkin is fighting him. Will Danny Jacobs the WBA interim champion be next for Golovkin? The No. 1 WBC contender Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. isn’t signing a contract.

Rubio has won 23 of his last 25 fights only losing to Chavez, Jr. and Kelly Pavlik. Golovkin may force Cotto into a meeting in winning the interim WBC title. Golovkin may take on the 168 pound champions WBC’s Anthony Dirrell , WBA’s Andre Ward WBO’s Arthur Abraham and IBF’s Carl Froch. Only Ward would seem to be any possibility.

Is GGG the most feared fighter in the world of boxing?
