The small clubs that keep boxing alive are running Friday in Wyomissing, PA, and Saturday in N. Bergen, NJ!
At a press conference Wednesday night at The Inn at Reading, in Wyomissing, PA, Andre Acuna and Joe Pastore’s Lion Heart Boxing returns with a solid Pro-Am show. The 10 amateur bouts will be worth the price of admission.
Matchmaker Mike Melendez will have 3 National Champions in Xavin Ramirez, David Stevens and Harold Lopez performing. Along with them will be Nick Rumer and George Diaz against Andre Dixon starting at 6:30.
Four professional bouts featuring Reading’s Eric Spring, 3-0 (1),against Tommy Ayers, 2-3 (2), of Cincinnati, OH, at light middleweight, Reading southpaw Jeremy Stauffer, 7-3-2 (6), against Dan Bolden, 1-3, of Louisiana at cruiserweight, Pottstown’s Travis “The Animal” Thompson, 6-11-3 (3), against Detroit southpaw Greg Coverson, Jr., 3-10-3 (2), at lightweight and in his debut Lebanon’s Nicholas Hernandez against Philly’s Greg Thomas, 0-3, at light middleweight.
The former IBF welterweight champion Kermit “the Killer” Cintron was in attendance and announced his comeback.
Philadelphia light heavyweight Yusaf “Mack Attack” Mack, 31-7-2 (17), makes his debut under Andre Kut’s KEA Boxing banner against Cory “Black Ice” Cummings 17-7-1 (13) of Baltimore, MD, at Schuetzen Park, North Bergen, NJ, Saturday night in a 7 bout card.
The co-feature has Juan “The Beast” Rodriguez, Jr., 11-1 (5), Union City, NJ, against Greg Jackson, 3-0 (1), Philadelphia. Heavyweight Tyrell Wright, 6-0 (4) Jersey City against NY’s Jon Bolden, 6-9 (5), Elvin Sanchez, 6-3-1 (5), Paterson, NJ, against Brad Austin, 10-13 (7), Johnson City, TN, Alexander Serna, 1-0 (1), Queens against Marlon Brown, 1-0 (1), Staten Island, NY, Andrew Bentley, 1-2, Jersey City against Micah Branch, 2-10-1, Cincinnati, OH. In a female bout Connie Viruet, 1-0 (1), Hoboken, NJ, is against Bertha Aracil, 1-0 (1), Yonkers, NY.
