Both David “Tuamanator” Tua, 51-3-1 (43), of New Zealand, and Monte “Two Gunz” Barrett, 34-9 (20), of Queens, NY, have weighed-in and are reading to rumble at Atlantic City’s Tropicana Saturday night in a Joe DeGuardia Starr Boxing Promotion. Tua tipped the scales at 237½ while Barrett came in at 225.

In Tua’s last bout he stopped Shane Cameron down under for the WBO Asia Pacific and WBO Oriental titles which will be at stake Saturday night in this ten round bout. Tua hasn’t lost since 2001 being 13-0-1 (10), since that time. He is looking for another title fight. His last fight in Atlantic City was 2002.

Barrett has been in with the who’s who of the heavyweight division. He has a win over former champion Tim Witherspoon and James Thunder from down under. He is looking to turn things around having lost his last three bouts. Style wise this should be a good fight for the fans. His last fight in Atlantic City was in 1998.

The co-feature will have top prospect Ray Serrano, 12-0 (6), a Philadelphia welterweight who is opposed by Ayi Bruce, 6-2 (4), of Ghana who holds the countries light welterweight title going twelve rounds. Two boxers on the card will be coming in from France making their US debut. European champion Anthony Mezaache, 18-5 (4), who is 10-0-2 in his last twelve fights takes on dangerous Carlos Vinan, 9-8-4 (1), of Ecuador and now living in Newark. His last two fights he fought a pair of Philadelphia boxers getting a win and a draw. This will be an eight round bout.

The other French boxer is Khedafi Djelkhir, (6-0 (5), taking on Jorge Cordero, 4-4 94), of Puerto Rico in a six round featherweight match. Mongolia’s Bayan Jargal, 15-0-2 (10), fighting out of Arlington, VA, takes on James Hope, 6-5 (4), of Rock Hill, SC, in an eight round welterweight bout. A pair of popular 8-0 boxers from North Jersey will be in six round bouts with Michael “The Artist Michael Angelo” Perez, 8-0-1, (3), of Newark and Jason “Monstruo” Escalera, 8-0 (7), of Union City. One more four round bout will take place featuring Seanie Monaghan, 1-0 (1).

The first bout will be at 7pm and be broadcast on PPV.
