Lightweight contender Henry Lundy III aka Hank Lundy was served for
“breach of contract and fraud” per his manager Ivan Cohen on September
10th at the Joe Hand Gym in Philadelphia.
Lundy blew a possible
big payday after Jimmy Burchfield, Sr. of CES put him into a “no win”
bout in Atlantic City July 27th where Lundy lost a majority decision to
Raymundo Beltran along with his NABF belt. Beltran had lost 2 of his
last 3 fights.
Lundy got dropped to No. 10 in the WBC ratings
and No. 15 in the IBF. Cohen claims he hasn’t gotten paid in Lundy’s
last 5 fights. It seems to be one of those cases where if you treat a boxer too
good he gets the idea he could do it on his own.
Cohen had one
of the most popular Philly boxers in IBF light middleweight champion
Buster Drayton. “There was only one boxer like Buster,” said Cohen.
Burchfield
was served with papers September 10th for “tortuous interference and
fraud” promoting Lundy without a contract per Cohen while Boxing 360 who
have a signed promotional contract with Lundy has also gone after both
Burchfield and Lundy through the courts. Both have 20 days to answer
the charges.
