According to reports circulating in Russian Media, former boxing champion Maxim Limonov (25 years of age) was shot and killed on Tuesday. According to reports, Limonov was shot from close range. At this time the assailant hasn't not been identified.
Limonov was shot at close range in the face as he was getting out of his Mercedes Benz upon returning home. His girlfriend reportedly was sitting next to him, but suffered no injuries.
Police have opened an murder investigation.
Limonov's professional record stood at 16 wins (8 by KO) with no losses.
