Doghouse Boxing Proud To Announce : The Return Of "The Kid!"

CANONSBURG, PA (April 7, 2004) – WDVE-FM welcomes and MICHAEL ACRI BOXING PROMOTIONS, in association with IC Light and BETS.Com, present “The Return of The Kid,” – the homecoming ring return of “The Pittsburgh Kid,” undefeated former IBF lightweight champion PAUL SPADAFORA! Spadafora’s return – his first fight since his May 17, 2003 mega-fight Draw at the University of Pittsburgh against former WBA lightweight champion Leonard Dorin – will take place Thursday, April 29, at the Hilton Garden Inn at Southpointe (1000 Corporate Dr.) in Canonsburg, PA. The first bout will begin at 8 P.M.
“We are looking for a Latin American or European opponent to meet the television demand from those regions,” said Michael Acri, Spadafora’s promoter. “I wanted to have Paul’s first fight at a casino in Atlantic City or Connecticut, but Paul insisted that his return to the ring be a real homecoming for all his friends and fans who have supported him. How could I argue with that?”
The undercard will also feature undefeated power-punching cruiserweight DAN HARVISON, 7-0 (6 KOs), from McKeesport, Pittsburgh light-heavyweight prospect Scott Kelly, 1-0, and possibly former WBA heavyweight champion Bruce Seldon, 34-4 (30 KOs), provided Seldon emerges victorious and uninjured from his fight scheduled for this Friday.
Tickets to “The Return of The Kid!” go on sale Tomorrow!
