In this exclusive interview conducted by Doghouse Boxing, Quillin speaks out on his win over Echols and what is in store come fight night, enjoy.
Benny Henderson Jr.: I would just like to congratulate you on your victory over Echols.
Peter Quillin: Thank you, thank you so much. It was a great win over a veteran, it has given me a hand full of confidence.
BH: You have a fight coming up June 11th, you are going to be fighting Dionisio Miranda. He looks like a very tough customer, what do you know about this guy?
PQ: I know that he is coming to fight me but I am in camp right now, I am here and I am focused and feeling ready. I am getting great sparring in, I feel great and I feel like I am going to do what I am going to do. I cannot worry about what Miranda wants to do to me, he should worry about what I am going to do to him.
BH: Have you seen any tape on him yet?
PQ: I have not seen any tape on him at all, but my team is confident.
BH: You are fighting in New York again, what is it like fighting in front of your hometown fans?
PQ: No pressure, I love fighting in New York, I feel very comfortable fighting in New York. I love my fans, my fans give me the support that I need, so what do I have to worry about, I don’t have to worry about nothing.
BH: How do you feel you have matured these past few fights?
PQ: Man, June 22nd I will be twenty-five years old, I feel that I have accomplished a lot in my time, spiritually and all. Being the person who can say that I am enjoying boxing and what life has in store for me.
BH: If you could send out a message to Miranda before the fight what would you say?
PQ: I would tell this guy to bring his A-game because I am going to bring my A-game and it should be a good fight. I am coming to win so hopefully he is doing the same, if not then he has to go home a loser, and I am refusing to go home as such.
BH: Anything in closing?
PQ: I want to thank you Benny Henderson for keeping my name in the public no matter where I am at. You can just call and give people coverage about me and let them know what I am doing.
I would like to thank Peter Quillin for his time and thoughts.
